Randy Garber HearSay: Visualizing the Space between Silence and Sound/Confusion and Clarity
“My work investigates perception and how meaning is deciphered…Because I am hearing impaired since infancy, I am acutely aware of the potential for misinterpretation… I believe this potential for miscommunication and the gaps between what is encoded and then decoded are relevant and urgent issues in today’s realm of ‘fake news’ and ‘alternative facts.’ My work speaks to these persistent possibilities of slippage in understanding.” –R.
