international art project: The Artivisim Challenge: Visual Arts to Empower Positive Change
The Artivisim Challange is an art competition hosted by Alpha'a, an online, Brazilian-born and women-run destination offering tailor-made art collections for young businesses.
The Artivism Challenge leverages the universal appeal and emotional power of art to raise awareness on critical issues impacting forests to incite change.
Emerging and established artists alike are encouraged to nominate an art piece that addresses the critical issue of rainforest conservation. A judging panel of environmental and art experts including advisor at Rainforest Alliance Senior Vice President Joshua Tosteson, Brazilian photographer Eliseu Cavalcante and Founder of Kaaysá Residency Lourdina Rhablem will select 2 winning pieces per each of this year's three themes, detailed in the attached PDF.
The winning works will be produced as prints and sold via Alpha'a e-commerce platform, with all profits benefiting forest conservation programs. The pieces will also be displayed at the Alpha'a exhibit during Brazil SummerFest, taking place July 21-August 3, 2019 in New York City.
Partners of this project include The Rainforest Alliance, Habitas, Kaaysá Residency and Brazil SummerFest.
