"In the later part of the 20th Century, it seems to be a resurgence of representational painting over its abstract counterpart. In my opinion, all representational painting has an abstract visual idea at its core rather than just painting a picture alone. DAVID A. LEFFEL Born in New York City, David A. Leffel graduated from Parson’s School of Design while also attending Fordham University. Between 1959-1960 with a Merit Scholarship, he studied painting at the Art Students League of New York. Several years later, Leffel returned to the League as an instructor and in the next 25 yrs., would leave an important legacy of influence with the thousands of students he taught. His work has been exhibited in numerous important solo, group and museum shows. Leffel has been featured in a number of articles in such publications as American Artist Magazine, Artists of the Rockies and the Golden West, Southwest Art, American Artists of Renown, and American Society of Portrait Artists. Author of three best-selling books, his teachings continue to instruct new generations of painters.	International Contest Subject : Still Life Jury: Mr. David A.
