The Okanagan Print Triennial 2012

The Okanagan Print Triennial 2012 is open to all artists residing in North, Central, and
South America.
Original works in all traditional printmaking media (intaglio, relief, screen print, and
lithography) are eligible. Digital and three-dimensional works are also eligible but must
incorporate at least one traditional hand-pulled process. Purely photographic images and
photomechanical reproductions made of existing works will not be considered.
There are no size restrictions but very large-scale works will only be considered based on
the availability of gallery space and the costs of shipping and installation.

All work must have been produced after December 2008.
Work created under instruction (i.e., student work) is not eligible.
Works displayed in the OPT at the Kelowna Art Gallery will not be identified as being for
sale, however, if visitors inquire about purchasing work, their contact information will be
forwarded to the artist.

Entry Procedure (phase one)
Artists may submit up to ten images in the form of digital files (768 x 1024 pixels at 72
dpi in tiff or jpeg format) on CD. While digital files are preferred, artists may submit good
quality 35mm slides instead. Digital or slide images must be clearly labeled with the
artist’s name and be numbered to correspond with the entry form (attached). CDs and
slides will not be returned unless artists submit a SASE with sufficient postage to cover
the mailing cost. Please do not email your images.
An entry fee of $40.00 (Cdn) in the form of a bank money order, made out to the Kelowna
Art Gallery, must accompany the entry form and visual documentation for any artist living
outside of Canada. The deadline for the submission of signed and completed entry form,
CD (or slides) and entry fee is October 17, 2011. Please do not send actual works of art
for this first stage. All artists will be informed of their acceptance or not by November 7,
2011.
Submit phase one entries to:
The Kelowna Art Gallery
1315 Water St, Kelowna
British Columbia, Canada
V1Y 9R3
Please do not telephone the gallery regarding shipping or about jurying results.

Entry Procedure (phase two)
Artist’s prints accepted for phase two of the entry process must be received by the
Kelowna Art Gallery by December 9, 2011. Submitted works must be the same pieces as
those reproduced in the images sent on slides or as digital image files for phase one. The
OPT reserves the right to reject any works that do not correspond to these images. Artists
will be informed of their acceptance or not by January 20, 2012. The OPT reserves the
right to edit the number of works included in the show by each artist for reasons of space,
logistics of the exhibition, etc.
Artists must attach the identification labels provided here to the back of each submitted
work.
Works must be sent in strong reusable mailing tubes or other appropriate packaging and
must be sent without mats or frames. The Kelowna Art Gallery intends on using magnets
to install the (unframed) prints for the exhibition.
All shipping and insurance coverage during transit will be borne by the artist/sender.

Return of Work
All works will be returned in the packaging in which they were received, either after
phase-two jurying, or following the close of the exhibition. The OPT will cover the costs of
returning works that were included in the exhibition.
Works will be insured and will be handled with the utmost care while on the premises
of the Kelowna Art Gallery, but the organizers/staff will not be held responsible for
unforeseen damage, theft, or loss during shipping/transit.
Catalogue
A full-colour publication will be produced to accompany the exhibition, and the artists
included in the exhibition will receive a complimentary copy of this catalogue.
