Postcard Art Competition & Exhibition (PACE 2011)

This biennial juried exhibition celebrates the postcard as art and as visual document. The 2011competition is now accepting entries. Download the prospectus. Entries are due on July 11, 2011.

The Postcard Art Exhibition will be on display at the Lake County Discovery Museum in the fall of 2011. The exhibition showcases 36 finalists. The top 12 award winners each receive a cash award and printed copies of the postcard made from their design. Twenty-four merit award winners are also included in the exhibition.

About the Jurors
Doug Travis is a prolific artist living and working in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Herron School of Art, Columbia College Chicago and UNLV. He has lectured and conducted workshops in letterpress and bookbinding, and worked as a photographer for the state of Indiana. One of his primary studies of work is creating original postcards. He has won numerous awards for his work, including awards from past PACE exhibitions.


Ron Testa has been making photographs since 1962. He holds a BFA and MFA in photography and he has served as a photographer for the Cleveland Museum of Art, U.S. Navy and Field Museum. In addition, he has taught photography around the country, and his photos have been shown in national and international exhibitions and published in many books and magazines. His work is represented in the permanent collections of a number of high profile museums, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York.

About the Curt Teich Postcard Archives
The Curt Teich Postcard Archives is the nation’s most significant publicly-held collection of postcards and related materials. The collection is held by the Lake County Discovery Museum, Wauconda, Illinois.
