Back’s energetic reduction woodcuts embody the continuous life cycle in creeks, trees, and plant forms near her wooded home. Trout’s vigorous, expressionist monotypes present both imagined and real-world observations. Back has exhibited widely throughout the US. She has been awarded numerous residencies and fellowships worldwide and her work is in many private and public collections internationally. Learn more on her website: cynthiaback.com. Phyllis Trout is a painter/printmaker/educator whose primary medium is monotype. She has worked at Manhattan Graphics for decades. She exhibits widely and her work is in international and national collections. She is also a teacher at Friends Seminary in NYC.
