Etching / Aquatint / Drypoint
with Vijay Kumar

This 6-week workshop includes 4 hours of studio time per week, during the session.

Artist/printmaker Vijay Kumar demonstrates a variety of specialized techniques including aquatint, spit bite, chine colle, etching, and drypoint. Participants are able to interact one on one with Mr. Kumar while selecting their own projects and direction for a personalized intaglio exploration.
Vijay Kumar has worked extensively in various printmaking techniques and has been teaching printmaking for many years. He has had numerous solo exhibitions of his drawings, prints and paintings in the United States and abroad. Mr. Kumar's prints are included in the collections of the New York Public Library, the Museum of Modern Art and the Brooklyn Museum.

For beginners and serious youngsters interested in making art: learning and experimenting with the printmaking arts in a professional studio environment. Each participant has the opportunity to create a variety of prints using water-based inks and other environmentally friendly materials. On the last day of camp there is an exhibition of the work created at a special reception for the young artists, their parents and families.
