Terra Vivente Art Studio is a small, independent studio offering a residency for emerging and established artists in Campania. Situated in the historical centre of the town of Guardia Sanframondi, it overlooks a picturesque valley filled with vineyards. Proposals that embrace themes of collaboration, sustainability, and community are encouraged. The residency takes place in December, July and August.
Applications are accepted until November 1 for the Terra Vivente Art Studio residency December 19 - January 2, and are ongoing for July and August 2014 residencies. (Please which dates you are interested in.)The studio is situated in rural Campania, in the historical heart of Guardia Sanframondi. It provides an opportunity for a small group of artists to come together, exchange ideas and make work in response to the atmosphere of the area, whether it be the landscape or the community. 
During the festive season in December, there are many cultural events in the town and the region, including concerts and markets. The studio and accommodation are in a stone building in the historical centre of Guardia, that has been lovingly restored. There are two-bedroom furnished apartments to be shared by the artists, and a shared studio with a separate entrance. There is a terraced garden adjoining the building, adding to the several common spaces where artists can relax, contemplate, discuss, and create.

This is an independent, not-for-profit studio, not affiliated with any organization, so it cannot provide funding for artists at this time. Please visit the website for details of the fee of 400 euros, which goes towards the accommodation and use of the studio. Artists must pay for their own transportation, food and supplies.
