Tap into the creative synergy unleashed by these two powerful forms of intaglio! Push your work into new levels of conceptual clarity and technical expression. The creative edge of contemporary printmaking is emerging from the combination of different traditions of printmaking.
In this comprehensive two-day workshop, we will explore how a printed image can shift from the photographic to the graphic mode and what can be gained from their combination. An exciting exploration of the interaction of two print making techniques, we will encourage printmakers to step outside of their comfort zone to find new creative and expressive possibilities.
By working with two plates-the first etched from the projection of a photograph and the second made through traditional etching techniques, we will create a composite image that brings together photography's power to record and etching's power to invent.
This is a special chance to work with guest teacher Lihie Talmor. Talmor is an Israeli artist who divides her time between Israel, Venezuela and Los Angeles, and has shown her bold, thought-provoking work throughout the world. |
